Someone’s sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago

Philanthropy has the power to bring about long-lasting social change; the Guru Krupa Foundation (GKF) is an iconic representation of this, having supported a
number of charities and community-based organizations, most notably the Help The Blind Foundation (HTBF). The trailblazing institution HTBF which assists visually impaired students in pursuing higher education, prioritizes technology-oriented competencies, English language proficiency and interpersonal skills through its Education Mobility Employability Training (EMET). Numerous V.I. students’ lives have been shown to be positively impacted by this skill development initiative. Among them are the twenty-five beneficiaries of the Guru Krupa Foundation who attend six institutions of higher learning spread across the districts
of Tiruchirappalli and Thanjavur in the state of Tamil Nadu.

The program’s effects are multifaceted; for an instance, the trainee’s typing and keyboarding skills have steadily improved. At the moment, their word counts range from 5 to 15 per minute on average. They have not only heightened their communication skills in English but also broadened their career aspirations through exposure to diverse role models and mock interviews. By emphasizing accountability and practical tasks like managing assignments & attendance, EMET has ultimately given the pupils the confidence to take on leadership roles and consistently maintain over 70% attendance in the hybrid mode of classes.

With laptops in hand, the trainees are thriving now, enabling them to develop their capabilities, seize new opportunities, and prepare for the workforce, despite initial challenges. The recipients recognize this as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for growth, both professional and personal and they are immensely appreciative of the contributor, Guru Krupa Foundation, for making it attainable. Prior to the project’s completion, we foresee a greater beneficial impact. Many thanks to the Guru Krupa Foundation, which is highly deserving of honour for its pivotal role in the creation of an inclusive community.
